I started this painting during a season where everything felt uncertain. I didn’t know what was coming next, and for someone who always wants to know the answer, being patient and learning to surrender was incredibly difficult.
This past year, I was forced to sit still. This heron became a reflection of that season for me. Standing quietly and not rushing or fighting my own current.. Instead, learning to just exist in the space between what was and what wasn’t yet.
Somewhere in that quiet, I learned to trust that what was meant for me would arrive in its own time, not on mine. I realized the unknown wasn’t something I needed to survive or try to rush through. And this space was unknowingly shaping me into the person that I was becoming.
As I finished this piece, I realized I’m not the same person who started it. Not even close. I’m saying YES to more, creating with confidence again, and finally showing up for myself in ways I’ve always deserved!
This painting will always remind me that some seasons are for sitting still long enough to hear yourself again. If you’re in a season where nothing makes sense yet, I hope this piece reminds you that the space between isn’t empty. 💖✨🙏
